About VM Software Labs

I build software that solves real problems: the kind that don't fit neatly into a SaaS subscription or a quick sprint. After years of freelance work and client projects, I founded VM Software Labs to put a name and structure around that work.

My background is in custom development, but the cases I find most interesting are the ones with constraints: legacy systems no one else will touch, businesses with operational bottlenecks they've learned to live with, products that need to work under conditions the original developers never anticipated.

The S.I.P. Petroșani project: gas monitoring software from 2004, source code lost, running in four active coal mines: is probably the clearest expression of how I work. You don't say "impossible" until you've spent real time with the problem. Usually you find something.

I'm based in Petroșani, in the Jiu Valley, which is, perhaps fittingly, a region that knows something about what it takes to keep essential systems running past their expected lifespan.

VM Software Labs is a small operation by design. Small means I'm the one who answers your email, reviews your requirements, and writes the code. It means the person you talk to and the person doing the work are the same person.
